Pakistan unequivocally condemns India’s deadly strikes, declares them ‘acts of war’
The National Security Committee meeting has issued a condemnation against the “illegal acts” by India declaring them as “blatant violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which manifestly constituted acts of war under international law”.

“The deliberate targeting of civilians, including innocent women and children, by the Indian military constitutes a heinous and shameful crime, that is in violation of all norms of human behaviour and the provisions of international law.”

The top security body’s meeting — chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif —was attended by CJCSC Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, ISI DG Gen Asim Malik and the services chiefs, footage showed.

Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik, PM’s political adviser Rana Sanaullah, AGP Mansoor Usman Awan and PM’s aide Tareq Fatemi were also present.
Italian minister expresses concern over escalation between India and Pakistan
Italy has expressed expressed concern at the escalation of the already tense situation between India and Pakistan as Italian Minister for Interior Matteo Piantedosi paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Piantedosi called for restraint on both sides and offered condolences for the innocent lives lost in Pakistan, the Foreign Office said.

Dar briefed the Italian Minister on India’s recent escalatory measures and stated that Pakistan strongly condemned India’s cowardly action, which was a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, international law, and established norms of inter-state relations.

He noted that Pakistan had exercised restraint but India, with its blatant disregard for international law, continued to threaten regional peace.

Iran voices ‘deep concern’ over India-Pakistan military confrontation
Iran has voiced “deep concern” after India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire in the worst violence between the neighbours in two decades, AFP reports.

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei “expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan” and called on both sides to “exercise restraint”.

Iran last month had offered to mediate.

Pakistan says India has once again ignited an inferno in region for ‘political objectives’
Pakistan’s NSC says that India has once again ignited an inferno in the region by conducting the strikes last night.

“Apprehensive of its falsehood being exposed, and without a shred of evidence about its claims, the Indian leadership, bereft of any morality, has now gone to the extent of attacking innocent civilians in order to satiate its delusional thoughts and short-sighted political objectives,” the top security committee said.

“Attacking its innocent people is neither tolerable nor acceptable to Pakistan. India, against all sanity and rationality, has once again ignited an inferno in the region, the responsibility for ensuing consequences shall lie squarely with India,” it added.

Recalling its offer for a neutral probe and rejection of India’s allegations of terrorist camps on its territory, the NSC asserted that international media had visited those sites yesterday and more such visits were planned for today.

The NSC stated that Pakistan’s armed forces responded to defend the country’s territorial integrity, including AJK.
