Mass Destruction Averted by Ceasefire, says Trump – Offers to Mediate Kashmir Dispute

U.S. President Donald Trump has praised the strong and unwavering leadership of Pakistan and India, saying that without a timely ceasefire, the region could have faced large-scale destruction and massive loss of life.

In a statement released on social media, Trump said:

“I am proud of the powerful, steady leadership of both India and Pakistan. Their courage, wisdom, and understanding prevented a disastrous war.”

He emphasized that had the ceasefire not been reached, millions of innocent lives could have been lost, and added:

“Your brave actions have positively shaped your legacy. I am proud that the United States assisted in reaching this historic decision.”

Trump Offers Mediation for Kashmir

Donald Trump further stated that he is committed to working with both Pakistan and India to explore a peaceful solution to the Kashmir conflict.

“I will try to find a way forward on Kashmir with both nations.”

He also hinted at economic engagement, saying:

“I haven’t yet held formal talks, but I aim to increase trade with both countries.”

U.S. State Department Confirms Mediation Efforts

Earlier, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce welcomed the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, facilitated under U.S. mediation. In an interview with an American news channel, she revealed that further negotiations are already being arranged.

She added that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio played active roles in de-escalating the conflict.

“We maintained several direct contacts with the Prime Ministers of both nations. The important thing is that a ceasefire has now taken place. We are continuing efforts to arrange and enforce further dialogue.”
