In a major escalation under Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) reportedly shot down multiple Indian Air Force (IAF) jets, injuring several pilots. A Heron drone was also destroyed near Jammu.

In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) reportedly shot down multiple Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, according to high-level security sources.

The operation resulted in significant damage to IAF combat infrastructure, with several pilots injured or reported missing. A number of Indian aircraft were hit in different regions of Indian-administered Kashmir, sparking fears of heightened conflict in the region.

Multiple Crash Sites, Pilots Injured

One fighter jet reportedly crashed in the Anantnag region. Authorities confirmed that the pilot is feared dead, and the ejection seat was recovered near Gadool, Kokernag.

Another IAF aircraft went down in the Pulwama/Pampore area, with both pilots suffering serious injuries. They were immediately evacuated to a hospital in Srinagar.

In Ramsu, Ramban district, a third aircraft was brought down, injuring Flying Officer Iqbal Singh, who was transported to the Army Hospital in Udhampur.

A fourth fighter jet crashed into agricultural fields in Bharda Kalan, Akhnoor Tehsil. Both crew members were seriously injured and shifted to the Military Hospital in Akhnoor.

Security sources also reported the destruction of another Indian aircraft in the Bathinda region, marking a widespread aerial setback for the IAF.

Indian Drone Shot Down

In a separate development, a Heron remotely piloted vehicle (RPV) operated by the Indian military was shot down approximately 13 nautical miles east of Jammu city, further adding to the growing list of Indian aerial losses.

Strategic Implications

The incident marks one of the largest aerial engagements in the region since 2019, raising alarms over the escalation potential between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. While there has been no official response from the Indian Ministry of Defence so far, military analysts are closely monitoring developments.

This story remains developing, and further confirmation is awaited from official sources on both sides.
