Sherry Rehman’s Social Media Account Blocked in India Amid Crackdown on Pakistani Voices
Pakistan Reaffirms Its Robust Defence Strategy in Wake of Unjust Indian Actions
In a continued crackdown on Pakistani voices, Indian authorities have now blocked the social media account of Senator Sherry Rehman, senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former federal information minister.
Reacting strongly to the move, Rehman accused the Indian government of trying to silence those who speak the truth. She stated that this censorship is an attempt by India to hide the facts surrounding the Pahalgam incident, where recent violence led to heightened tensions between the two countries.
“This is a deliberate effort to suppress truth and control the narrative,” Rehman said, calling India’s actions deeply condemnable. She further urged the international community to take notice of this growing trend of digital suppression.
Referring to India’s post-Pahalgam aggression, she noted that Pakistan responded with responsibility and restraint, in contrast to India’s baseless hostility.
“India can try to silence voices, but it cannot run from the truth,” the senator said. She also issued a strong warning that if India attempts any further adventurism, Pakistan is fully capable of delivering an effective response.
Rehman reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace but made it clear that any attack on national sovereignty will be met with firm and decisive defence.
