SANA Condemns the Murder of Two Sindhi Youth, Irfan Laghari and Zahid Laghari

The Executive Council of the Sindhi Association of North America (SANA) strongly condemns the merciless killing of two Sindhi youths, Irfan Laghari and Zahid Laghari. These young men were peacefully exercising their democratic right to protest against the construction of controversial canals in the Cholistan desert of Punjab.
SANA believes that these murders are not only a violation of human rights but also clear evidence of state-sponsored oppression against those advocating for the rights of Sindh’s water, resources, and land. This incident is a profound shock to the conscience of the entire civilized society.
SANA demands an independent and impartial judicial inquiry into the murders of Irfan Laghari and Zahid Laghari. Those responsible must be brought to justice. The right to peaceful protest must be ensured, and such acts of state aggression must be prevented in the future.

SANA stands in solidarity with every voice raised for the rights of Sindh’s land, rivers, resources, and people. We express our complete solidarity with the families of Irfan and Zahid during this difficult time and appeal to all Sindhis to unite and advance the struggle for justice.
