TikToker Sana Yousaf’s Murder Solved: Prime Suspect Umar Hayat Arrested in Faisalabad
Islamabad Police have arrested the alleged killer of popular TikToker Sana Yousaf, tracing the suspect Umar Hayat to Jaranwala, Faisalabad using CCTV footage, mobile phone data, and technical forensics.
According to police sources, Umar confessed to the premeditated murder during initial interrogation. The murder weapon—a pistol—was recovered from his possession, along with Sana’s missing iPhone, further strengthening the case against him.

Authorities revealed that Umar, who hails from Punjab, had been in contact with Sana for some time, indicating a personal grudge as the motive. On the day of the incident, he allegedly parked his motorcycle near her home in Sector G-13, entered her residence, and fled the scene on foot. His movements were captured on Safe City cameras, which were crucial in narrowing down the investigation.
The breakthrough came within 20 hours, prompting Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to commend the Islamabad Police for their swift and effective response.
A case has been registered at Sumbal Police Station on the complaint of Sana’s mother, while police continue to expand the investigation based on recovered footage and evidence.
The body of 22-year-old Sana Yousaf, who was found murdered in her Islamabad home, has been sent to her native village in Upper Chitral for burial.
