
Budget 2025–26: Rs722.48 Billion Allocated for BISP, Increases for Presidency and PM House
The federal government has unveiled the budget for the fiscal year 2025–26, outlining key financial allocations aimed at social protection, poverty alleviation, and governance institutions. The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has received a substantial allocation of Rs722.48 billion, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting the country’s vulnerable segments.
Key Social Protection Allocations:
- BISP: Rs722.48 billion
- Poverty Alleviation Division: Rs10.23 billion
- Pakistan Baitul Mal: Rs14.20 billion
These allocations signal a sustained focus on poverty reduction and welfare support across Pakistan.
Interior, Law, and Security
The Ministry of Interior and its attached departments will receive Rs343.89 billion, including:
- Rs21.26 billion for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT)
- Rs274.15 billion for Combined Civil Armed Forces
- Rs19.12 billion for the Intelligence Bureau (IB)
- Rs1.05 billion for NACTA
The Ministry of Law and Justice has been allocated Rs23.42 billion, with separate funds for key judicial institutions:
- Supreme Court: Rs6.64 billion
- Islamabad High Court: Rs2.17 billion
- Election Commission of Pakistan: Rs9.86 billion
Parliamentary Expenses
Parliamentary bodies and members are receiving significant budgetary allocations, including:
- National Assembly: Rs16.29 billion
- Senate: Rs9.05 billion
- MNAs (salaries & perks): Rs5.08 billion
- Travel expenses (MPs): Rs2.5 billion
- Standing Committee Chairpersons: Rs1.24 billion (NA), Rs1.44 billion (Senate)
- Speaker & Deputy Speaker: Rs393.4 million
- Leader of the Opposition: Rs83.4 million
- Senators’ Salaries & Perks: Rs1.0638 billion
- Chairman & Deputy Chairman Senate: Rs189.6 million
Increases for Presidency and PM House
The Prime Minister’s Office has been allocated Rs896.5 million, reflecting an increase of Rs1.795 billion from the previous year. Its internal branch will receive Rs857.7 million.
The President’s House will receive Rs2.5 billion, including:
- Rs933.7 million for public office operations
- Rs1.75 billion for staff salaries and allowances
