Pakistan Strongly Rejects Indian FM Jaishankar’s and PM Modi’s Remarks as Provocative and Baseless

Jun 11, 2025

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly condemned and rejected recent remarks made by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, terming them provocative, misleading, and devoid of diplomatic dignity.

In a sharply worded statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), spokesperson Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan denounced Jaishankar’s comments during his address in Brussels, saying they reflected “neither the conduct nor the tone expected of a senior diplomat.”

“Such rhetoric undermines the spirit of responsible diplomatic engagement and reflects India’s continued obsession with maligning Pakistan,” the spokesperson said.

Ambassador Shafqat emphasized that India has long been involved in a malicious campaign to mislead the international community, while actively sponsoring terrorism and committing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

Rebuttal to PM Modi’s Remarks on Pahalgam Attack
In a separate response, MOFA categorically rejected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s accusation that Pakistan was involved in the recent Pahalgam attack, calling it “baseless, misleading, and unsubstantiated by any credible evidence.”

“This is yet another attempt by India to deflect international scrutiny from its own atrocities in occupied Kashmir,” the statement noted.

The MOFA reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed territory, whose final status is to be resolved in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

India Must Abandon Aggressive Rhetoric
Pakistan warned against India’s continued use of hostile and aggressive language to justify recent actions and shift focus from domestic and international criticism.

“India’s anti-Pakistan narrative, particularly after its failed military adventurism, is a reflection of deep frustration and insecurity,” MOFA stated.

Call for International Accountability
Pakistan once again called on the international community, United Nations, and global human rights organizations to take note of India’s actions and press for accountability regarding the grave violations in IIOJK, including:

Widespread suppression of fundamental freedoms

Arbitrary detentions and demographic engineering

Massive military presence and human rights abuses

Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Peace
Despite India’s continued provocations, the Foreign Office stressed that Pakistan remains committed to peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and diplomacy, but will not compromise its sovereignty or national dignity.

“The Indian leadership must introspect and abandon its confrontational mindset. Pakistan, while favoring dialogue, stands ready to defend its national interests resolutely,” concluded Ambassador Shafqat.
