Bilawal Hails Diplomatic Victory Over India in Global Advocacy Campaign

Jun 21, 2025

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday claimed that Pakistan had achieved a diplomatic breakthrough by countering Indian efforts to isolate the country on the international stage. Speaking at a celebratory gathering organized by the PPP upon his return from a multi-nation diplomatic tour, Bilawal said Pakistan had “defeated India diplomatically.”

Leading a high-level parliamentary delegation earlier this month, Bilawal visited key global centers including the United Nations, Washington D.C., London, and Brussels. The mission aimed to present Pakistan’s stance on critical issues such as the fight against terrorism and the longstanding Kashmir dispute.

The delegation included prominent parliamentarians and former diplomats such as Dr. Musadik Malik, Sherry Rehman, Hina Rabbani Khar, Khurram Dastgir Khan, Faisal Subzwari, Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Tehmina Janjua. The trip was initiated at the request of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari.

“I carried your message of peace, Kashmir, and our rights to major global platforms,” Bilawal told supporters. “India’s narrative was rejected, and Pakistan’s voice was amplified across international media and institutions.”

Reflecting on the May 7–10 border conflict, which he referred to as Marka-e-Haq, Bilawal stated that Pakistan’s military decisively countered aggression from India — a country seven times its size — and said the nation was proud of this defense.

He also accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of threatening Pakistan’s water supply and issued a warning: “If India challenges the Indus Waters Treaty, we will fight again and claim all six rivers.”

The PPP chairman emphasized that Pakistan’s commitment to resolving the Kashmir issue remained unwavering, citing former U.S. President Donald Trump’s offer to mediate as a “historic diplomatic gain.”

Bilawal also highlighted Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir’s simultaneous presence in the U.S., saying his meeting with President Trump at the White House symbolized Pakistan’s growing influence and undermined Indian claims about Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism.

Other senior PPP leaders, including Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Senator Sherry Rehman, and Sharjeel Memon, were present at the event.
