South Waziristan – Security forces killed 11 terrorists and injured seven others during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan on Tuesday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operation was launched following credible intelligence about the presence of militants linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al Khwarij, ISPR stated.

During the intense firefight, Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah, 37, from Chakwal, and Lance Naik Jibran Ullah, 27, from Bannu, embraced martyrdom. Major Moiz, who was leading the operation, had been recognized for his bravery in earlier counterterrorism missions.

“Troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout, killing 11 militants and injuring seven others,” ISPR said, adding that a sanitisation operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

The military reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism from Pakistan, particularly groups allegedly sponsored from abroad.

“The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only reinforce our resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” the statement read.

This operation highlights ongoing counterterrorism efforts in tribal regions, which remain volatile due to the presence of various militant networks operating along the Afghan border.
