Pak Army to Assist Civil Administration for Muharram Security: Mohsin Naqvi

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi announced that the Pakistan Army will be deployed nationwide during Muharram to assist with security and ensure the maintenance of law and order. Speaking during a visit to a central imambargah in Islamabad’s Sector G-6, Naqvi said that a comprehensive security plan had been finalized and miscreants were under close surveillance.

Accompanied by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Naqvi emphasized that security agencies are on high alert to counter any potential threats during the holy month. He confirmed that the federal government has approved the army’s deployment across all four provinces, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The interior minister reviewed security arrangements at the imambargah and received a detailed briefing from officials. He also met with the imambargah’s management to discuss the preparations and reassured them of full government support to ensure peace and safety for mourners.
