Asian Junior Squash Championship:Pakistani players reach quarterfinals

Six Pakistani players have reached the quarterfinals of different age group categories in the ongoing Asian Junior Squash Championship in Korea.

Pre-quarterfinal matches were played on the second day of the event in Geumcheon, in which Pakistani players performed brilliantly. Nine Pakistani players were in action in different categories, out of which six achieved success.
In the pre-quarterfinals of the Boys Under-19, Abdullah Nawaz defeated India’s Tawneet Singh Mundra. Abdullah Nawaz’s winning score was 11-4, 11-5 and 11-6. However, in this category, Pakistan’s Anas Shah was defeated by India’s Yusha Nafees 3-2 in a 5-game match.
In the U-15 category, Pakistan’s Ahmed Rayan Khalil defeated India’s second seed Shreyash Jha. In the U-15 category, top seed Noman Khan also reached the quarterfinals by defeating Malaysia’s Muhammad Afwat Zulfikari.

In the Boys U-13 category, Pakistan’s top seed Sohail Adnan defeated Malaysia’s Mayer Al-Fayed, while in the U-17 category, Umar Arif was defeated by Indian player Subhash.
