Bryce Dallas Howard Welcomes Scarlett Johansson to the Jurassic World Family

Scarlett Johansson has received a warm endorsement from Bryce Dallas Howard as she joins the cast of Jurassic World: Rebirth. In a recent interview, Johansson revealed that Howard—who played Claire Dearing in the previous Jurassic World films—sent her a heartfelt email upon hearing of her casting. “She wrote me a whole long email about her experience and how wonderful the fans were,” Johansson said, adding that Howard’s message highlighted the excitement of becoming part of the “Jurassic family” and gaining lifelong supporters.

In Rebirth, due July 2, Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a skilled mercenary on a mission to recover dinosaur DNA for medical breakthroughs. She leads a new ensemble cast that includes Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis and Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid. Jonathan Bailey also shared that Jeff Goldblum, his co-star from Wicked, encouraged him to “just have a great time” in the film, praising the franchise’s legacy and its roster of “incredible, iconic actors.”

Johansson noted that many of her former collaborators—from Laura Dern to Samuel L. Jackson—were enthusiastic about her leap into the prehistoric universe. For her, joining Jurassic World fulfills a childhood dream. “It’s surreal,” she said. “As a huge fan of the movie, I’m just excited for Jurassic nerds to see it… I hope other 10-year-olds have the same experience I did when I saw the first Jurassic Park in theatres.”
