Nadia Khan Clarifies Hania Aamir Controversy, Praises Diljit Dosanjh’s Support

KARACHI – Veteran television host and actress Nadia Khan has responded to mounting criticism over her remarks on Hania Aamir’s role in the Indian film Sardar Ji 3, emphasizing that her position remains consistent regarding Pakistani artists working in Bollywood amidst ongoing political tensions.

In a video posted on her official Instagram account, Nadia reiterated her belief that Pakistani celebrities should refrain from participating in Indian projects, especially when bilateral relations are strained.

“People are saying I took a U-turn. That’s not true. I still believe our artists should not go where they are disrespected,” Nadia said, referencing previous incidents where Pakistani actors such as Mahira Khan and Mawra Hocane were removed from Indian films following diplomatic fallout.

However, the seasoned host praised Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh for standing by Hania Aamir and releasing Sardar Ji 3 internationally without excluding her, despite the backlash.

“Diljit didn’t give in to pressure. He released the film worldwide, excluding India, and didn’t remove the Pakistani actress. That’s why I said we should welcome and respect him in Pakistan,” Nadia explained.

Nadia maintained that Pakistani stars already enjoy global fame and do not need validation from Indian cinema, adding that silence from the entertainment fraternity during periods of cross-border conflict often reflects a preference for social media engagement over national interest.

Her clarification aims to address online critics who accused her of changing her views after initially denouncing Hania’s Bollywood involvement.
