Iranian state media reported on Monday that at least 1,060 people died in Iran during the 12-day war with Israel.

According to the French news agency AFP, Saeed Ohadi, head of the Iranian Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs, told state TV in an interview that “as of tonight, we have buried 1,060 loved ones across the country regarding martyrs.”
However, Iranian TV did not provide details on how many civilians or military personnel were killed in the Israeli strikes.

Israel began airstrikes on Iran on June 13, which continued for 12 days.

Hundreds of civilians, including top Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, were killed during the attacks.
Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian said in an interview broadcast on Monday that Israel had also tried to take his life.He replied to the question of American anchor and analyst Tucker Carlson, “Does he think Israel tried to assassinate him?”: “Yes, they tried. They took action, but they failed.”

On June 16, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not rule out a plot to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying it would “end the conflict.”
