Embassy of Japan in collaboration with Nippon Foundation, has donated a collection of 166 books to Comsats University

ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Nippon Foundation, has donated a collection of 166 books on Japan to Comsats University Islamabad Abbottabad Campus. H.E. Mr. AKAMATSU Shuichi, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, presented the books at a ceremony held on Tuesday, July 8. The Ambassador on the occasion said “The gift of books from the Nippon Foundation today are in fact the bridges of knowledge and friendship between Japan and Pakistan”.


 
Also present on the occasion was Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, Director, COMSATS University Islamabad- Abbottabad Campus, who expressed his sincere gratitude to the Nippon Foundation and the Embassy of Japan for their generous gift of books, and hoped that the students will use this opportunity to learn about Japan that will pave the way for further strengthening the Japan-Pakistan relations.

The 166 carefully selected books in English language cover a range of topics related to Japan such as politics, economy, security, philosophy, art and culture. These books were donated under the “the Read Japan Project of the Nippon Foundation” aiming to promote further understanding of Japan through books. Libraries overseas are chosen to receive books each year. Those books will help the students to gain access to the information necessary to research and learn about Japan.
