UAE Rejects Lifetime Golden Visa Rumours | Warns Against Fraudulent Claims

Jul 9, 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially denied reports suggesting that lifetime Golden Visas are being offered to certain nationalities through simplified procedures. The clarification comes amid a surge in misleading news stories circulating on social media and international news platforms.

According to a statement released by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed that such claims are inaccurate. It reaffirmed that the eligibility criteria, application categories, and legal framework for obtaining the UAE Golden Visa remain unchanged and are clearly defined under current laws and ministerial decisions.

The ICP advised prospective applicants to refer only to official sources, such as the authority’s website or smart application, for any updates or guidance regarding the Golden Visa. It emphasized that all applications must be processed through authorised UAE government channels, and that no private consultancy or agency outside the UAE is authorised to facilitate the Golden Visa process on behalf of the government.

The response came after a foreign consultancy claimed it could secure lifetime Golden Visas for certain nationalities through third-party channels — a claim the ICP has strongly rejected, stating it has no legal or official basis and was not made in coordination with UAE authorities.

Authorities have since issued a strong warning, urging the public not to pay fees or share personal documents with unauthorised entities claiming to provide Golden Visa services. Legal action, the ICP stated, may be taken against individuals or organisations attempting to mislead the public or profit from these fraudulent claims.

The UAE government reiterated its commitment to transparency and security in its immigration and residency processes. It urged all individuals to verify any information related to visas through official platforms such as the ICP’s website or by contacting the authority’s 24/7 helpline at 600522222.

What is the UAE Golden Visa?
The UAE’s Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa designed to attract global talent in fields such as business, science, technology, medicine, education, and the arts. It allows eligible foreign nationals to live, work, and study in the UAE while enjoying a range of exclusive benefits.

Golden Visa holders receive a six-month multiple-entry permit initially, which is followed by a five- or ten-year renewable residence visa. One major advantage is that it does not require a local sponsor, offering more flexibility to foreign residents.

Additionally, Golden Visa holders are allowed to stay outside the UAE for extended periods without losing their residency status — a benefit not typically granted with standard visas. They can also sponsor family members, including spouses and children of any age, under the same visa category.

The UAE continues to refine and expand its residency programs to support innovation, investment, and sustainable development. However, the government stresses that any changes to visa rules or offerings will be communicated only through verified and official channels.
