T20 cricket: New record, 5 wickets in 5 balls
Ireland cricket team Ireland Curtis Kaempfer took 5 wickets in 5 balls against North West Warriors in the Interprovincial T20 Trophy.
In the crucial match of the Interprovincial T20 Trophy in Ireland, Manor Pools captain Curtis Kaempfer took 5 wickets for 16 runs against North West Warriors in 2.3 overs.
Curtis Kaempfer set a record by taking 5 wickets in 5 consecutive balls in the second and third overs of his quota, due to which the Warriors team, which at one point had scored 87 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, was all out for 88 in pursuit of a target of 189.
The Minster Reds captain took consecutive wickets off the last two balls of the 12th over to reach a hat-trick position, after which he completed his hat-trick on the first ball of his third over and continued to take wickets, ending the innings of the new batsmen on the next two balls as well.
Curtis Kaempfer was named player of the match for this performance. Regarding his performance, he said, “I was hesitant because of the over change, wondering what was going on, but I patiently bowled as usual and fortunately it worked.”
When asked about the record, he said, “Would another batsman have set the record of getting 6 outs in 6 balls?” He said, “No, I don’t think that would have happened, but I’m happy with this performance.”
According to the report, Curtis Kaempfer had previously missed the ODI and T20 series against the West Indies due to injury, but this was his second match after returning. In the first match, he had scored 57 runs off 35 balls and did not get a chance to bowl.
