Abu Dhabi – July 11, 2025 — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has assured Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi of its commitment to streamlining the visa process for Pakistani workers. The announcement came during Naqvi’s official visit to the UAE, where he received a ceremonial welcome and held high-level meetings with Emirati authorities.
During his visit, Minister Naqvi met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Ministry of Interior in Abu Dhabi. Both dignitaries discussed key issues related to work visa facilitation, security cooperation, and the exchange of advanced technologies between the two nations.
The UAE leadership affirmed its intent to ease the visa process, particularly for work visas, recognizing the valuable contributions of Pakistani expatriates to the UAE’s workforce and economy. The move is expected to provide significant relief and opportunities for thousands of Pakistanis seeking employment in the Gulf nation.
The discussion also focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in counter-narcotics, anti-smuggling efforts, illegal immigration, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for security and surveillance operations.
Minister Naqvi expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the strong brotherly relations between the two countries. “The UAE is a trusted and valuable partner. Making the visa process easier will not only benefit our citizens but also enhance regional cooperation,” he said.
Later, Naqvi visited Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters, where he was given a detailed briefing on the UAE’s modern policing, surveillance systems, and AI-powered security tools. He praised the UAE’s law enforcement advancements and expressed interest in replicating similar technologies in Pakistan.
The meeting was also attended by top Emirati officials, including Major General Salem Ali Al Shamsi, Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Brigadier Engineer Hussain Ahmed, and Brigadier Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi. Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and senior diplomatic staff accompanied Minister Naqvi during the engagements.
