29 Palestinians Killed in Overnight Israeli Airstrikes
Gaza’s civil defence agency has confirmed that at least 29 Palestinians, including six children, were killed early Sunday in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the besieged territory. The strikes reportedly targeted residential areas and humanitarian zones such as a water distribution point in the Nuseirat refugee camp, resulting in eight deaths there alone.
A family home near Nuseirat was also hit, killing ten people, while three more civilians died when Israeli warplanes struck a tent shelter in the Al-Mawasi area. These assaults come amid a week-long deadlock in ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel, held indirectly in Qatar.
A spokesman for Gaza’s Civil Defence, Mahmud Bassal, stated that these attacks have worsened the already catastrophic humanitarian conditions. More than two million people have been displaced since the conflict reignited following the October 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.
Israeli officials have not yet commented on Sunday’s specific strikes, although the military confirmed on Saturday that over 35 Hamas targets were attacked around Beit Hanun in northern Gaza.
