Arshad Sattar and Inam Butt Elected Unopposed in Pakistan Wrestling Federation Elections
LAHORE – The Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) successfully conducted its official elections at the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) House, where all key office bearers were elected unopposed, signifying a strong consensus within the wrestling community.
In a significant leadership shift, Chaudhry Arshad Sattar has been appointed as the President, while renowned international wrestler and former world champion Inam Butt takes over as Secretary. Muhammad Riaz was elected as Treasurer, and Chaudhry Mobeen was chosen to serve as Chairman of the federation.
Marking a historic milestone, the newly elected PWF leadership now includes women representatives for the first time — a step towards greater gender inclusion in Pakistani wrestling.
Hafsa Shoaib, the newly elected Senior Vice President, expressed her pride in breaking barriers and promised a committed effort to expand wrestling’s reach across Pakistan.
“It’s a proud moment. I will work tirelessly to promote wrestling and bring more talent into the sport,” she said.
President Arshad Sattar reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to grassroots development and talent discovery:
“Our priority is to take Pakistan wrestling forward and discover new champions.”
Secretary Inam Butt echoed the sentiment, saying:
“We will use our experience to build a strong foundation for upcoming athletes.”
The elections were held in the presence of officials from the Pakistan Olympic Association and the Pakistan Sports Board, adding legitimacy and transparency to the electoral process.
Following the announcement of results, the newly elected leadership expressed gratitude to the General House and pledged to infuse new energy, professionalism, and inclusivity into the federation.
This new chapter for the Pakistan Wrestling Federation brings renewed hope for the sport’s revival and international success, with a leadership team that blends experience, representation, and a clear vision for the future.
