Couple Killed, Seven Injured in Police Drone Strike in Katcha Area of Naudero
Larkana – July 13, 2025: A police drone strike in the Katcha area of Naudero in Larkana district resulted in the tragic deaths of a couple and injuries to seven others, including four women and two children, according to initial reports from local sources.
The victims, Ghulam Ali Khakhrani and his wife Sassi Khakhrani, were asleep in the courtyard of their home when the drone attack struck, killing them on the spot. Family members reported that the impact caused a fire, destroying most of their household belongings.
The injured were shifted to a local hospital in Naudero for emergency treatment. As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official comment from either SSP Larkana or DIG Larkana regarding the drone strike or its intended target.
No Clarity on Target or Authorization
The lack of immediate police statements has sparked public concern and questions about operational oversight, particularly regarding the use of drone technology in civilian-populated areas. The family insists they were innocent and not involved in any criminal activity.
Local human rights groups have called for an independent investigation into the use of lethal force and the apparent civilian casualties.
Wanted Dacoit Killed in Jacobabad Encounter
In a separate incident, police in Jacobabad reported killing a wanted dacoit, Allah Bux Banglani, who had a head bounty of Rs5 million.
According to officials, Banglani was involved in over 20 serious criminal cases and was eliminated during a targeted police operation.
