Iran Rejects Any Nuclear Deal That Denies Uranium Enrichment Rights

Jul 13, 2025

Tehran – July 14, 2025: In a firm stance on nuclear negotiations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that Iran will not accept any nuclear agreement that denies its right to enrich uranium, calling the issue non-negotiable and directly tied to Iran’s national sovereignty and scientific advancement.

Speaking to media outlets, Araghchi reiterated:

“Uranium enrichment is Iran’s inalienable right. It is not just a technical issue, but one of national dignity and progress.”

He emphasized that any future deal must be based on respect for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, and that global powers must adopt a realistic and constructive approach to move the stalled talks forward.

Core Demands in Focus
Iran insists that the right to enrich uranium under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) is fundamental. Iranian officials argue that their nuclear program is strictly for peaceful energy production, scientific research, and medical applications, not for weaponization.

Araghchi further added:

“Our scientific and technical capabilities are a source of national pride, and we will not compromise on them under international pressure.”

Call for Realism from Global Powers

Iranian leadership has urged global negotiators, particularly the P5+1 (China, France, Russia, the UK, the US + Germany), to avoid maximalist demands and focus instead on building a balanced, durable framework for peace.

Tehran maintains that the success of any nuclear agreement hinges on mutual respect, lifting of sanctions, and acknowledgement of Iran’s legal rights under international law.
