
Ishaq Dar Vows to Continue Pakistan’s Efforts for Regional Peace and Stability
Kuala Lumpur – July 13, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to promoting regional peace, calling for relationships based on equality, dignity, and mutual respect.
Addressing the Pakistani community in Kuala Lumpur, Dar emphasized Pakistan’s foreign policy vision of peaceful coexistence while asserting the country’s resolve to defend its sovereignty against aggression.
Alluding to recent tensions with India, he said:
“Pakistan gave a befitting and measured response to Indian aggression. India’s desire to establish regional hegemony has been firmly rejected.”
Dar further claimed that the defeat India suffered has been difficult for its leadership to digest, highlighting Pakistan’s resilience in defending its national interests.
Pakistan’s Economy on the Road to Recovery
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed optimism over economic progress, noting that inflation has dropped to single digits and other key indicators are stabilizing. He appreciated the overseas Pakistani community’s contributions to the national economy and urged them to continue supporting Pakistan through investment and remittances.
High-Level Meeting with Malaysian PM
On the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He conveyed warm wishes from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Malaysia in trade, investment, and diplomacy.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reciprocated the sentiments and expressed enthusiasm for PM Shehbaz Sharif’s scheduled visit to Malaysia in October 2025.
Dar also lauded Malaysia’s leadership as the ASEAN Chair for 2025 and appreciated the country’s hospitality and effective organization of the ASEAN forum.
