World Masters Snooker Championship: Muhammad Asif and Shahid Aftab win group matches

Oman: (Web Desk) Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif and Shahid Aftab made a successful start to the World Masters Snooker Championship, winning both their group matches on the first day of the event and ensuring their passage to the next round.

43 players from 15 countries are participating in the World Masters Snooker Championship in Bahrain, Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif and Shahid Aftab won both their matches on the first day of the event.
Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif, who was in Group C, won both his matches without dropping a frame, and in the first match he defeated Oman’s Haitham Bin Ali 0-3, with frame scores of 48-81, 19-58 and 9-78.

In the second match, he defeated Ireland’s Jay Chopra 33-68, 14-79 and 16-7.

Shahid Aftab faced tough competition in both matches, winning both the best-of-five matches in the deciding frame.
In the first match of the day, he defeated Egypt’s Mohamed Nouyer 43-68, 64-47, 35-88, 60-31 and 36-94. He came back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 against Kuwait’s Abdullah Al-Yousef, with scores of 70-25, 53-31, 6-79, 13-58 and 25-103.

Both Pakistan players will face Indian players in their final group matches on Monday.
