Humaira Asghar Case: Court Orders Police to Submit Autopsy Report Within Seven Days
Lahore – July 16, 2025: A local Lahore court has instructed law enforcement authorities to submit the post-mortem report in the Humaira Asghar death case within seven days, as questions surrounding the mysterious demise of the actress continue to mount.
The directive was issued during the hearing of a petition filed by a citizen, Shahzaib Sohail, who requested the registration of a criminal case against Humaira Asghar’s family, citing suspicions of foul play.
The late actress, known for her roles in several popular dramas, was found dead under unclear circumstances earlier this month. The incident triggered widespread speculation and concern from the public and media.
During Wednesday’s hearing, police submitted a preliminary inquiry report, while the court emphasized the need for a comprehensive post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. The court also acknowledged the growing public interest in the case and the seriousness of the petitioner’s allegations.
Shahzaib argued that the death was not natural and may have involved homicide, citing a viral video clip that allegedly suggests Humaira was murdered. He further claimed that her estranged relationship with her family casts additional doubt over the circumstances of her death.
“Police have already labelled the incident as suspicious, and justice demands a transparent investigation,” the petitioner stated.
The court’s call for the autopsy report marks a critical step in determining the future course of the investigation. Police officials are now under pressure to provide medical evidence that could confirm or refute the petitioner’s claims.
