Miley Cyrus Opens Up: Why She’s “Finished with Touring”

July 16, 2025 — Grammy-winning artist Miley Cyrus has revealed candidly why fans should not expect her to embark on another major tour anytime soon. In a heartfelt interview with Good Morning America on July 15, Cyrus shared that while she physically can tour, she has simply lost the desire to do so.

“I do have the physical ability, and I have the opportunity to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t,” the Flowers singer admitted, explaining that her priorities have shifted significantly in recent years.

Known for rising to fame as the teenage star of Disney’s Hannah Montana, Miley has since focused heavily on her mental health and sobriety — both of which, she explained, are challenging to maintain amid the relentless pace of touring life.

Referencing late music legend Prince, she noted, “It’s hard to maintain sobriety on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life.”

Cyrus also described the emotional highs and lows that come with performing live in front of thousands of fans.

“You have so many thousands of people screaming at you — so dopamine, you’re feeling a lot of love — and then you totally crash at the end of the show,” she said. “You start thinking that one person loving you is not enough. It needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.”

The 31-year-old’s last major tour was the 2014 Bangerz Tour, which coincided with a turbulent period in her personal life and career. Since then, Miley has adopted a more grounded approach, focusing on intimate shows, studio projects, and personal growth.

Her 2023 hit Flowers—widely regarded as an anthem of self-love and empowerment—further showcased her evolution as an artist and individual.

While some fans may feel disappointed, Miley’s openness about setting boundaries and prioritizing wellbeing has earned widespread respect and admiration.
