PTI Leaders Remain Silent on Imran Khan’s Social Media Directives

Jul 16, 2025

Islamabad – July 16, 2025:
Despite direct instructions from former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, several senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have not complied with his call to amplify his social media messages, raising questions about unity within the party.

According to a report by 24NewsHD TV, Khan had urged party leaders to share and retweet his tweets, including a recent statement in which he warned that if any harm were to come to him, a “field marshal” would be responsible.

However, key party figures, including PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, Senator Shibli Faraz, and Parliamentary Leader Barrister Ali Zafar, have refrained from reposting or publicly endorsing the message.

Other notable figures such as Barrister Saif and legal expert Salman Akram Raja have also not responded to Khan’s request by sharing his statements on their social media platforms.

The lack of engagement with Khan’s posts comes at a time when the PTI founder remains incarcerated and continues to rely heavily on digital channels to communicate with his supporters and maintain political relevance.

Observers suggest this silence could reflect growing internal differences, political caution, or a shift in strategic alignment within the party ranks.

The development has sparked debate among PTI loyalists and political analysts alike, with questions mounting over the party’s current leadership dynamics, loyalty to the founding figure, and evolving power structures within PTI.
