
Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship: Pakistan’s fifth consecutive victory
Bangkok: Pakistan registered its fifth consecutive victory in the ongoing Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship in Thailand by defeating defending champions Iran 3-1 in a thrilling match.
Pakistan’s winning streak continues in the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship. Pakistan defeated Iran 1-3 in the Group F match in the crossover round to be held today to register its fifth consecutive victory.
The match between Pakistan and Iran lasted for more than two hours, with Pakistan winning against Iran by scores of 25-23, 25-19, 22-25 and 31-29.
Faizanullah, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Junaid and Saran Baig played outstanding games for Pakistan, Faizanullah scored 23 points including 21 attack points while Irfan scored 16 points.
Overall, Pakistan outscored Iran 51-44 in attack points and 15-11 in block points, while Iran was better in service points.
Pakistan topped Group F of the round by winning both matches in the crossover round. While Pakistan carried forward the points from its first-round win against Korea, Pakistan has already secured its place in the top four of the event, where it will face either India or Japan.
