
Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship: Pakistan defeats India
Karachi: Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India in a humiliating semi-final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship.
Pakistan defeated arch-rivals India 0-3 in a one-sided match to book a place in the final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship. Pakistan will face Iran on Saturday for the title, which defeated Japan in the other semi-final.
The Pakistan Junior team made it to the final without losing a set. Pakistan won the first set 16-25, won the second set 19-25, and won the third and deciding set 12-25 to seal victory.
Junaid, Faizan, Irfan and Talha played an important role in their team’s victory by playing excellent games. Thanks to their excellent performance in the event, Pakistan has already qualified for the World Under-27 Championship 2026.
Meanwhile, Iran defeated Japan 0-3 in the other semi-final. Earlier in the event, Pakistan, who were undefeated in the event, defeated Iran 1-3 in the match for a quarter-final position to make it to the final four.
Pakistan defeated Korea, Saudi Arabia and Chinese Taipei in Group D to become the group champion and defeated Indonesia to make it to the semi-finals.
The Pakistani team has been undefeated in this event so far and has defeated the opposing teams in every match after a fierce competition.
The Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship is underway in Thailand, in which prominent junior teams from across Asia are participating.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the Pakistani team for qualifying for the final of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship.
The Prime Minister expressed his happiness and said that Pakistan remained undefeated throughout the tournament, and it is very gratifying to have defeated India in the semi-finals and qualified for the final.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the entire nation is proud of its youth, and we pray that Allah Almighty will grant success to the Pakistani team in the final.
