Farrukh Khokhar Joins JUI: Fazl Welcomes New Political Chapter
Islamabad, July 18, 2025: In a significant political development, Farrukh Khokhar, a well-known figure in Islamabad’s political circles, formally joined the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) in a gathering held at Dera Taji Khokhar. The event was attended by JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who welcomed Khokhar into the party with high praise, stating that his inclusion would add energy and direction to the party’s ongoing struggle for an Islamic democratic Pakistan.
Addressing the gathering, Farrukh Khokhar expressed admiration for Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s speech on Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, calling it the pivotal moment that inspired his alignment with JUI. Khokhar, whose family has a political legacy with roots in the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), stated that he now seeks to contribute toward national and religious causes through JUI’s platform. He also lauded Maulana Fazl’s unwavering support for the Pakistan Army during the war with India, describing him as a true patriot.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, in his address, said that Khokhar’s joining would strengthen JUI’s political momentum, particularly in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. “His presence will fortify our mission to promote Islamic values and uphold constitutional supremacy across the nation,” the JUI chief remarked.
He also criticized the Supreme Court, alleging that it had been “pressured to shift its stance” on the sensitive religious matter of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat. Maulana Fazl warned of rising global mockery of religion and cautioned that “a specific lobby” is actively working to undermine Pakistan’s Islamic identity. He called upon the international community to recognize and respond to this dangerous trend.
On the economic front, Maulana Fazl expressed deep concern over rising inflation and criticized the government’s failure to alleviate the financial burden on the public. “While neighboring countries move ahead with progress, our people are being crushed under the weight of inflation,” he stated, adding that meaningful improvement is impossible without uplifting the lives of ordinary citizens.
He concluded by declaring that Farrukh Khokhar’s formal entry into JUI signals a new political wave in the capital region, marking the beginning of a fresh and dynamic chapter for the party’s future in national politics.
