RAWALPINDI: Security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by Khawarij on the Pak-Afghan border and arrested 5 alleged suicide bombers.

According to security sources, at 5 pm on July 17, Khawarij tried to enter Pakistani territory from the Pak-Afghan border. Security forces set up blockades at five different locations as soon as they received information. At 6:25 pm, they advanced towards Azizkhel and Mandikhel.
The forces set up blockades at five different locations and surrounded the Khawarij, who had taken refuge in the mosque in Besikhel. Due to excellent strategy, the forces immediately surrounded the mosque, after which the terrorists surrendered.

All the arrested Khawarij are Afghan citizens between the ages of 15 and 18, while three of the suspects also have Afghan identity cards. All the Khawarij have been transferred to an unknown location for interrogation. A search operation by security forces is underway in the area.
According to security sources, several infiltration attempts along the Pak-Afghan border have been foiled in recent months. Security forces in North Waziristan killed 71 Khawarij in a successful operation between April 25 and 27, 2025, while 30 Khawarij were killed in an infiltration by Indian-backed terrorists on July 4.

Earlier, on March 23, 2025, 16 Khawarij were killed in an attempt to infiltrate through the Afghan border.

Security sources say that Fitna al-Khawarij has full support from India, from infiltration through the Pak-Afghan border to spreading terrorism in Pakistan.
