The LPG ship “Gas Falcon” was seized in Mozambique in November 2024 for non-payment of financial obligations.

According to Express News, the international LPG ship “Gas Falcon” carrying 13 crew members, three of whom are Pakistanis, has been taken into custody in Mozambique.

According to shipping industry sources, the ship has debts of about $1.5 million, while the owner of the ship is an Italian citizen.
The ship is anchored at the Mozambican port of Beira and the crew is yet to be allowed to disembark.

Sources have said that the Pakistani crew has not been paid their salaries since January, while food and medicine supplies have run out.

Despite the intense heat, the ship’s air conditioning system has also been shut down, further adding to the crew’s hardships.
There is also a stock of LPG on board, while the crew has become helpless due to the failure of the owner to provide any kind of assistance.

The captain has appealed that the Pakistani authorities immediately contact the Mozambican government and take steps to release the Pakistani nationals and assist them.
It should be noted that this ship is not owned by Pakistan but is the asset of a shipping company in the Central African country of Gabon. However, due to the presence of Pakistani crew, this matter requires immediate attention.
