Ishaq Dar meets with his American counterpart
Washington D.C.: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, held a key meeting with his American counterpart during his official visit to the United States. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation, trade relations, and financial collaboration between the two countries.
According to the Foreign Office, both sides exchanged views on regional economic stability, investment opportunities in Pakistan, and the importance of continued engagement through diplomatic and financial channels. Dar highlighted Pakistan’s recent economic reforms and invited U.S. businesses to explore investment prospects in various sectors, including energy, IT, and infrastructure.
The U.S. side acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic role in the region and expressed willingness to expand cooperation in mutual areas of interest. The meeting was described as “constructive” and reflective of growing engagement between Islamabad and Washington.
Sources indicate that issues related to IMF engagement, FATF compliance, and debt restructuring were also briefly touched upon.
