Peshawar: Restoration work begins on Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor’s mansions
PESHAWAR: Official work has begun on a project to restore the historic mansions of Bollywood legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor in Peshawar to their original condition.
According to Secretary Archaeology Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Abdul Samad, the project will be completed in two years and a total of Rs 70 million will be spent on it.
Dr. Abdul Samad said that these two mansions will be restored to their original condition and later opened to tourists to promote local and international tourism. This project was started during the previous government, but remained pending due to lack of funds.
It should be noted that Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor belonged to the old city of Peshawar and their ancestral homes are now considered cultural heritage sites.
The provincial archaeology department is taking special steps to preserve these buildings and maintain their historical features.
