Jul 28, 2025

Islamabad (Monday): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a telephonic conversation with Foreign Minister of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan, during which both leaders made a strong joint call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and emphasized the need for unimpeded humanitarian access.

Condemning the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, the two leaders expressed grave concern over the escalating humanitarian crisis, including mass starvation, forced displacement, and the tragic loss of innocent lives. They stressed the urgency of unified international efforts for a comprehensive and lasting peace, grounded in justice and the two-state solution framework.

They also expressed hope that the international conference on the implementation of the Two-State Solution, currently underway at the United Nations in New York, would yield tangible results for Palestinian statehood and peace.

Pakistan-Iran Bilateral Call: Gaza Crisis & High-Level Visit Discussed
Earlier, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also held a telephonic conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, where both leaders discussed the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and reiterated their joint support for Palestinian self-determination. Dar called for immediate and unhindered humanitarian assistance to the besieged population and welcomed the prospect of an upcoming high-level Iranian visit to Pakistan.

Pakistan Reaffirms Strong Stand for Palestinian Statehood
In an interview with Arab News, Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering stance in support of an independent and contiguous Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Dar emphasized:

“Our stance has been consistently clear, and we adhere to it with unwavering commitment. We have openly condemned the oppressor and consistently called for accountability.”

He also highlighted Pakistan’s backing of the landmark peace conference co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, being held at the UN headquarters from July 28 to 30. This global forum aims to forge a roadmap toward peace, ceasefire, humanitarian access, reconstruction, and international recognition of Palestine.

Dar commended the joint initiative by Riyadh and Paris, stating:

“If we are able to achieve these objectives, it will be a great success and a highly commendable contribution by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France.”

Pakistan’s Continued Humanitarian Aid for Gaza and Beyond
Beyond diplomatic efforts, Pakistan has been actively involved in humanitarian relief operations. Dar noted that since the beginning of the crisis nearly two years ago, Pakistan has dispatched multiple aid consignments, initially for Gaza, and later extended to Syria and Lebanon.
