Admiral Naveed Ashraf awarded Turkey’s highest military honor

RAWALPINDI (Web News) Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has been awarded the prestigious “Legion of Merit of the Turkish Armed Forces” during his official visit to Türkiye, said ISPR.

Upon his arrival at the Turkish Naval Forces Headquarters, the military’s media wing said, Admiral Ashraf was presented with a guard of honour. He held a key meeting with the Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, where matters of mutual interest and bilateral maritime cooperation were discussed.

During the visit, the Naval Chief also met Türkiye’s Minister of Defence, Chief of General Staff, and Commander of the Turkish Naval Fleet.

The meetings focused on enhancing regional maritime security, strengthening defence partnerships, conducting joint exercises, and expanding training capabilities.

As part of his itinerary, Admiral Ashraf visited the Istanbul Naval Shipyard to review the progress of the Pakistan Navy’s MILGEM project. He also toured the Golcuk Naval Base, observing Türkiye’s submarine construction capabilities.

Additionally, the Naval Chief visited several naval facilities, including Turkish warships, and laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The visit is expected to further deepen naval cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
