Gold chain snatched from female MLA in Delhi’s high security zone
A shocking incident has taken place in the highly secured Diplomatic Enclave of the Indian capital Delhi, where a man riding a scooter snatched a gold chain from Congress MLA Sudha Ramakrishnan during her morning walk.
According to details, the incident took place after 6 am on Monday morning when Sudha Ramakrishnan was walking near the Polish Embassy.
A helmeted scooter rider slowly approached her, and as soon as he got the chance, he forcibly pulled the gold chain from her neck, resulting in an injury to her neck.
The MLA immediately wrote a letter to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, filing a complaint about the incident, calling it a dangerous message regarding women’s safety.
“If women are not safe even in Delhi’s high-security zone, it is not difficult to imagine the situation in the rest of the country,” he said.
The local police have registered a case and started an investigation, but no arrests have been reported yet.
