Lahore: (Dunya News) Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took a test ride in Pakistan’s first urban electric train “Super Autonomous Rapid Transit”.
The Chief Minister of Punjab personally monitored the road test from Ali Town to Muslim Town in the “Super Autonomous Rapid Transit”, Maryam Nawaz inspected the SRT and reviewed the available facilities.
Transport Minister Bilal Akbar gave a detailed briefing to the Punjab Chief Minister about the SRT, Maryam Nawaz reviewed the road test drive of the SRT, and checked the running of the SRT amidst normal traffic.
People on Raiwind Road and Canal Road continued to express happiness after seeing the SRT.
“Super Autonomous Rapid Transit” is being successfully operated in Turkey, China, Abu Dhabi and other countries. The electric train has three carriages while it has a capacity of four. Norinco International’s latest SRT has a capacity of 320 passengers.
The first fully electric train, the “Super Autonomous Rapid Transit”, can travel 40 kilometers on a single charge. The “Super Autonomous Rapid Transit” will have air conditioning and other amenities.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif says that “Super Autonomous Rapid Transit” will reduce environmental pollution and improve traffic. The people of Punjab are now waiting for good news every day. The beauty of Lahore will be doubled with the operation of SRT. Maryam Nawaz further said that good news of SRT is also coming to Gujranwala and Faisalabad.
