
Islamabad: Heavy rain, water enters houses
Islamabad: (Web Desk) Intermittent heavy rains in the federal capital Islamabad have caused water from the Margalla Hills to overflow into drains, flooding various areas.
Due to the flooding of drains due to heavy rain, water entered houses in Bhara Kahu, Chak Shahzad and other areas. After the rain in New Chhata Bakhtawar, the streets and roads began to look like ponds, several vehicles were submerged, the residents of the area are facing severe difficulties, many people are trapped in their homes.
CDA (Capital Development Authority) and NDMA teams have reached the spot for relief activities and rescue operations are underway. With the help of volunteers, women, elderly and infants are being shifted to safe places.
Due to last night’s rain, the water level in Rawal Dam reached 1750.60 feet, after which the spillways were opened once again.
The district administration has issued instructions to all institutions to remain alert and citizens to stay away from rivers and canals.
In addition, 10 tourists stranded due to rain and landslides in Neelum Azad Kashmir have been safely evacuated. Tourists were stranded due to landslides in Jamgar area of upper Neelum Valley late last night.
