Demi Lovato reacts to Selena Gomez’s engagement to Benny Blanco

(Web News)Demi Lovato is showing nothing but love for Selena Gomez as she celebrates her engagement to Benny Blanco.

The 33-year-old singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where she was asked about her former Disney Channel co-star and longtime friend.

Gomez, 33, confirmed her engagement to Blanco, 37, in December 2024.

Lovato praised Gomez’s recent comments about their Disney Channel generation, which Gomez made during a July appearance on Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast. “I heard clips she said on the podcast. It was really, really sweet,” Lovato told host Andy Cohen.

Adding that she “couldn’t be happier for her” and her upcoming marriage, Lovato said: “I just wish her the best.”

The Grammy nominee also revealed that she has listened to Gomez and Blanco’s joint album I Said I Love You First. “Really, really great job,” Lovato said, before admitting that her favorite track is “Bluest Flame.”

Lovato and Gomez’s connection goes back more than two decades. The pair first met in 2001 on Barney & Friends before rising to fame on Disney Channel — Lovato starring in Sonny with a Chance and Gomez leading Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2009, they co-starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Princess Protection Program.

Although their friendship faced ups and downs over the years, with reported tension around 2014, the two have consistently supported each other’s careers.

Lovato is currently preparing to release her new album It’s Not That Deep on October 24, featuring her latest single Here All Night.

Meanwhile, Gomez has been busy with her own projects, including wedding planning with Blanco and promoting their successful collaborative album.
