Türkiye and Pakistan Deepen Ties During High-Level Diplomatic Visit

Islamabad, October 1, 2025 — In a move to further strengthen bilateral relations, Ambassador Irfan Neziroğlu hosted a senior Turkish delegation at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu, Rector of Türkiye’s National Defence University.

The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan in key areas such as defense, education, and cultural exchange. Discussions likely focused on joint academic initiatives, including faculty exchanges and collaborative research, as well as programs to foster deeper people-to-people connections.

Both countries share a longstanding relationship built on mutual respect, historical ties, and strategic interests. The meeting reflects a continued commitment to expanding cooperation in line with shared goals.

Ambassador Neziroğlu, who previously served as Türkiye’s Ambassador to Sudan, has been a key figure in strengthening Türkiye-Pakistan diplomatic engagement. The National Defence University of Türkiye, established in 2016, is a leading institution for military education and strategic studies.
