Serious differences arose between Republicans and Democrats over Obamacare subsidies. Republicans demanded an extension of the current funding for 7 weeks, while Democrats refused to support it.Several federal departments are at risk of closing due to the lack of spending approval before the start of the new fiscal year. The US government shutdown has suspended NASA activities, halting important scientific work.
Most of NASA’s laboratories and research institutes have been temporarily closed, more than 15,000 NASA employees have been furloughed, and NASA’s space missions and data collection have been temporarily halted.
