Ericsson Reaffirms Commitment to Pakistan’s Telecom Future, 5G in Focus

Ericsson’s decades-long partnership with Pakistan, founded on trust, innovation, and technical expertise, was highlighted during a high-level meeting held yesterday. Sweden’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg von Linde, along with Ericsson’s regional leadership led by Mr. Patrick Johansson, met Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and other senior government officials. Discussions centered on Pakistan’s evolving telecommunications landscape and the country’s preparedness for next-generation technologies, including 5G.

The exchange underscored Sweden’s strong emphasis on innovation and Ericsson’s significant role in shaping Pakistan’s telecom sector for over six decades, as Pakistan moves forward toward a more connected and digitally advanced future.
