Japanese Ambassador Celebrates Emperor Naruhito’s Birthday with Call for Stronger Pakistan Ties

ISLAMABAD: The Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Akamatsu Shuichi, hosted a reception at Serena Hotel to celebrate Emperor Naruhito’s 66th birthday, attended by President Asif Ali Zardari and other dignitaries. The Ambassador highlighted Japan’s commitment to rule of law, multilateralism, and a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, and emphasized Pakistan’s role in regional and global challenges.

Ambassador Akamatsu outlined three areas for strengthening bilateral relations: people-to-people exchanges, economic cooperation, and promotion of Japanese culture. He also condemned the recent terrorist attack at an Islamabad mosque and expressed solidarity with Pakistan.

The event featured Japanese wagyu beef, traditional arts, and exhibitions by Japanese companies and organizations, showcasing the strong ties between Japan and Pakistan.
