
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Two-Day Visit to Turkey
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has departed for a two-day official visit to Turkey at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During this visit, the Prime Minister will engage in detailed discussions with President Erdoğan on bilateral relations, regional developments, and global issues.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described this visit as another testament to the strong and enduring friendly ties and cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey. The visit is expected to further strengthen the already close and strategic relationship between the two countries, and provide an opportunity to enhance mutual cooperation on various issues of common interest.
The two countries have established a Joint Strategic Cooperation Council to elevate the level of strategic partnership and bilateral relations. The aim of this council is to promote cooperation in various sectors. The seventh session of the council was held in Islamabad on February 12-13, 2025, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan co-chairing the meeting.

Alongside the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi are accompanying him on this visit. During the trip, both leaders will focus on promoting a multifaceted partnership between Pakistan and Turkey.
