Indian Soldier Detained by Pakistan Rangers for Border Violation
Lahore – Pakistan Rangers have detained an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel for crossing the international border into Pakistani territory.
According to Indian media reports, the soldier was apprehended on Wednesday in the Ferozepur sector near the Punjab border. The detained individual has been identified as Constable P.K. Singh of the BSF’s 182nd Battalion. At the time of his arrest, he was in full uniform and carrying his service rifle.
Sources confirm that Pakistani authorities have formally informed Indian officials about the detention. A flag meeting between the border forces of both nations is currently underway to address the situation.
Incidents of border violations, though rare, remain a sensitive issue between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, especially in times of heightened bilateral tensions.
More details are awaited as both sides continue talks over the soldier’s custody and potential repatriation.
