PM Shehbaz Extends Dialogue Offer to Modi Amid Kashmir Tensions, Hails PAF’s Aerial Victory
The Prime Minister urges India to engage in talks on terrorism and Kashmir, while celebrating the PAF’s aerial achievements.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday visited Kamra Air Base, acknowledging the valiant officers of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for their crucial role in a successful national defense operation. The PM praised the PAF’s significant contribution in countering Indian aggression, confirming the downing of a sixth Indian fighter jet in the recent conflict.
Shehbaz was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other senior cabinet members, including Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu were also present.
PAF’s Historic Victory
Addressing the PAF personnel, the Prime Minister declared the aerial victory as one of Pakistan’s most glorious military successes. “In less than 10 hours, the Falcons of PAF shattered the myth of Indian military superiority, downing not five, but six Indian jets,” he said.
The downed aircraft reportedly included three Rafale jets, one Sukhoi Su-30, one MiG-29, and one Mirage 2000. Additionally, 85 Indian drones, including an Israeli-made Heron UAV, were neutralized by Pakistani forces, the PM confirmed.
Unmatched Restraint and Resolve
Highlighting the restraint shown by the armed forces, Shehbaz Sharif stated, “Despite unprovoked aggression, our forces acted with exceptional patience and professionalism. But when the time came, they delivered a decisive, proportional response.”
He praised the leadership of Army Chief General Asim Munir and Air Chief Zaheer Babar Sidhu, reaffirming confidence in Pakistan’s defense capabilities. “Our security remains invincible under their command,” he added.
Call for Dialogue and Peace
Despite celebrating military success, the PM extended an olive branch to India, urging dialogue over confrontation. “Let’s sit down and talk to resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute and address terrorism issues,” he said.
Shehbaz emphasized that the Kashmir conflict remains unresolved, warning that it could escalate at any moment. “The Kashmiri freedom struggle is alive and will continue until justice is served and the right to self-determination is granted,” he stated.
A Tribute to the Falcons
Concluding his address, Shehbaz Sharif lauded the PAF’s performance and pledged full state support to the families of martyrs. “The Falcons of PAF have changed the regional landscape and restored faith in our defense capabilities. We will honor their sacrifices forever,” he declared.
The event at Kamra Air Base ended with the PM reiterating his call for peaceful dialogue with India, underlining that Pakistan remains committed to regional stability but will respond firmly to any aggression.
