Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb lauded the Pakistan Army on Friday for delivering a “befitting response” to India’s recent strikes, emphasizing that the nation’s triumph was not just about military technology but also unwavering spirit and unity.
Speaking at the central Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Thanksgiving) ceremony in Lahore, Aurangzeb stated:
“This was a war of technology, but also of capability and spirit. India possesses more military forces and resources than us. However, this was not just a battle of hardware—it was fought with determination and resolve.”
She further credited the armed forces for their decisive action, saying:
“They [India] forgot that we have the Pakistan Army. Today, we stand united and salute Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his leadership. Our enemy heavily relied on its media and social media as tools in this conflict, but our nation’s unity prevailed.”
PM Shehbaz Acknowledges US Role in De-escalation
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed that US President Donald Trump played a “substantial role” in easing tensions between Pakistan and India following the recent escalation.
Addressing a gathering at the Pakistan Monument during Youm-e-Tashakur events, the PM stated:
“The entire nation stands firmly behind the Pakistan Armed Forces with full strength. On May 10, millions of Pakistanis prayed for the success of our soldiers.”
Reflecting on the historic significance of the day, he added:
“Few in history are granted a day like this—one that will be remembered for centuries.”
