Engin Altan Shares Funny & Touching Memories from Pakistan Visit
Famed Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan, best known for his iconic portrayal of Ertuğrul in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, recently opened up about his unforgettable visit to Pakistan — sharing both hilarious and heartwarming stories that have further endeared him to Pakistani fans.
In a candid interview, Engin reflected on his first trip to Karachi during the COVID-19 pandemic. Laughing, he recounted how, just after arriving and settling into his hotel room, fans barged in unannounced.
“I told them, ‘This is my room,’ and they said, ‘Yeah, yeah, come — we’re here for pictures!’ It was wild — no one cared about social distancing!” he recalled with amusement.
He also described a surreal moment at a mosque where the crowd swelled to over 5,000 people, forcing the national guard to step in. Despite the overwhelming situation, Engin said he felt deeply moved by the passion and warmth shown by the people of Pakistan.
Engin praised the Pakistani public for their love and even avoided mentioning controversial TikToker Kashif Zameer, who had previously scammed him during a visit. His silence on the matter was seen as a classy gesture by fans.
Pakistani social media was quick to react with love and appreciation.
“He’s such a gentleman — didn’t even mention Kashif Zameer,” one user posted.
Another added, “Pakistan loves you, Engin! Thank you for remembering us with so much kindness.”
Engin Altan’s sincere and humorous reflections have only strengthened the cultural bond between Pakistan and Turkey, showing once again why he remains a beloved figure in the region.
